Yeah. I know what that is.
"You don't really want me to write anything, do you? I'm just another guitar player hangin' out on the astral winds of the interwebs, like the rest of you. Play some of my music—you might just enjoy a track or two. Or three..."

- Michael McClure, a guitar player

Oh, okay...

Just the facts then: Michael Andrew McClure is the name, and I've been playing guitar since the summer after I turned 14. Maybe it was 13. Can't remember—too long ago now to be bothered with it. But, suffice it to say, it's been a long, long time since then.

I cut my (guitar playing) teeth on the prog rock and fusion of the '70s, not because I'm a throwback admiring a time I did not experience myself, but because that's actually when I grew up (see the above-mentioned turning 14 or 13 thing, then do the math...). I had several favorite players back then, many of whom you may have heard of, and perhaps a few of whom that you have not. I don't sound like any of them, so I may as well not tell you who they are. Not really a point to that. But, what I should tell you is that those guys 'told' me in their playing, "Just be yourself, man." Yes, it was as if they were one, big retro-'70s-amalgam-guitar-wielding-being-in-bell-bottoms that spoke in sophomoric platitudes, with the righteous 'man' cliche tagged on there for good measure (it's a musician thang). Get over it. I'm just playing along with the changes, man.

Now you got me started. I could go on like this for hours! I really could. Write to me, if you're up for it. Why not?

Ah, the 1970s... such a hard time for hair.

The tog did get me to have that 'faraway look' in my eyes though, didn't he?  Win.
